As a kid back then it took me a while to realize that Doc was teaching Lightning how to drift

It’s not so much “turning left to go right” as it is “when you lose traction on the wheels to a hard turn, make sure you turn your wheels into to direction of travel to regain control and direct your slide.” He was going sideways for a second, and would have spun out if he didn’t counter steer like that. Cutting the wheel left kept him in the race
