Just saw this last night. I am sorry I didn't see it sooner. I LOVE Edward Burns films. The dialogue and casting is always spot on. There aren't too many people who can act, write and direct and Burns is definitely a renaissance man.

Heavy and painful drama.
Dysfunctional family, 7 children, mother affected and somehow, immunized from trauma and suffering.

None of them escaped the traumas of childhood and adulthood and the psycho-emotional wounds through which adult children live their lives.
Everyone is depressed, everyone has behavioral gaps and altered life principles.
A film for mature people, with an unexpected ending, a must-see, which is full of details and details that show the suffering of the children of a toxic family, which almost no one has passed.
From gentle to downright disliked, the characters are very well defined, in my opinion the actors play flawlessly.
We have also inserted an idyll, a beginning of a relationship, a little love story, from the category "when a woman and a man who went through life meet".

If we relate this video to the category of Christmas drama, the film is, without a doubt, a grade of 10, all the more so because it is clean, without "correct political" progressive-globalist influences.
But if we report this film to the general, we simply can NOT give it a grade. Probably why we have so many poorly chosen notes that are given to Christmas movies.
Also, the music is excelent!

Without but also maybe, a great collectible film.
