I love Lex. He always genuinely wants to learn, and he knows he doesn’t know everything. When the guest says “you’re doing a definition switch” Lex really thinks about it and acknowledges he made a mistake. This is why I like him. He seems like a humble guy

Big Thanks to Lex for discussing anarchism. I remember when I met friends from Russia I was amazed to hear they were taught about anarchism in Russian schools. The term was never mentioned in schools in USA, not even in the negative. I remember asking my Russian friends if they knew who Peter Kropotkin and Mikhail Bakunin were, and they replied "of course". Years later I took my dog to the courtyard of the hotel I was staying at in Los Vegas. My dog became friendly with another dog who belonged to an older Russian couple on vacation. As we talked, the husband said something along the lines of "it's amazing how they are friends when they don't have governments to tell them otherwise". They didn't have a poop bag, so I gave them one of mine. It was the day before my wedding, and I was nervous. I didn't have any cigarettes, and hadn't quit yet, so I got one from the Russian man to ease my nerves. Those minutes we spent together gave me peace and were in some ways a metaphor for what is fundamental to anarchism.

I love how Lex always has redbull coffee and a mystery drink but still talks at .75x speed

After governmental incompetence here in the UK past 5 years, i'm starting to like anarchism more and more.

BY FAR, the most intelligent and respectful interview of 2 "opposing sides" on a sensitive issue that I have ever seen. MAJOR props to you both.

It's amazing to me that people in 1776 had more foresight than the people living now.

Having representatives and elected officials is literally the premise for a high school prom king and queen and student council. We shouldnt have 1 person - a few thousand who make decisions for everyone. We always elect the worst people for these jobs

Lysander Spooner is the most legendary anarchist. Read "the constitution of no authority". He was a really interesting character

"Those who need leaders are not qualified to choose them" Holy shit. Goddamn that's a good point.

"you can't expect the gov to devote itself to the citizens, if the people aren't aware what they actually need"
it is so easy to win votes on basis of roadways and infrastructure but very few care about the books that the young read.

It's obvious we are living in a political system that has more than run its course and causes as many problems as it solves if not more. More government, more of said system is not the answer, it's definitely less but how much less our current population could deal with is the question when they don't even know the difference between emotion and thought.

To be fair, Lex mentions at the beginning of this podcast that he pulled an all-nighter working the night before.

People naturally form authority structures and power heirarchies. This is the issue. People who want to be absolutely free are going to wind up drowning under the masses forming around them by people who naturally want a place in the power structure.
