Your accent and the way you pronounce certain words and sentences altogether is extremely similar to Christoph Waltz. Good stuff, thanks for the tutorial!

dude, nice tutorial, you should try camstudio, i used it sometimes, it works well but just a bit buggy when some settings are not done right. or you could try webinaria

Good tutorial--except whenever I select the indoor daylighting environment, the whole render is completely black. I'm set to Mental Ray, but for some reason it's not working correctly and all my lights in the scene have to be set to something like 50, 000 luminous units just to be seen. :( Also how to you enable hardware rendering? Because I have a good video card that I don't believe is being utilized...

what shader do you apply on the vehicle ?

Hmm...I thought you had to do other stuff to enable hardware rendering, but maybe that's just for older version of Max. I set the exposure value down to 3 or 4 which sort of did the trick, but it still didn't look nearly as good as yours. My shadows are also quite blocky when I'm in Mental Ray mode, but in scanline it looks fine. :/ Strange.

Great tutorial. I'm using Max 2009, and it's giving me a nothing but white background. :(

Great tutorial! And may I ask 2 simple questions? Since mental ray render tab doesn't show ambient occlusion option, if I turn on GI or indirect illumination, do I have to use AO maps in materials? The next question is how to optimize the render settings to reduce render time? I turned on final gather to test, it saved a lot of time but the render results were terrible. But turning it on really takes much more time to render...I am desperate...

Yes, I sent a copy to 3d world magazine as well, but it belongs to arte-3d. Thanks.
