How long will it take for my aquarium Oscar fish to grow to full size? How fast do they grow in what size tank? You can expect the Oscar to grow around 1” per month when adequately fed everyday and given good water changes. Get yourself a quality pellet food too.

That's a beautiful Oscar Chris! And I hit up Tazawa Tanks on this and he said I could about 9 months to a year in a 55 gallon before I had to upgrade. But the secret to me is good food and big water changes with good water quality.

Just keep up with them properly and don't worry about size until a year later and they still look small. Btw 12 months is a year not sure if you missed that in the editing or just had it fly over your head as you were concerned with giving people the info about the fish

I feed mine twice a day do you think that's power feeding? My tiger Oscar grew from 3 inches to 6 in a month 1/2

I’ve been an fish enthusiast, Oscars more than anything. I’ve had different sizes and colors. The biggest I had he was approximately 18”, now this was given to me so I don’t know how old he was. I was told he was a rescue fish that been neglected and was always kept in a thank that too small for his size. But that’s all the iformation I got. So I don’t know how he was. I had him in a 150 gallon thank but I had to give him to someone who had a bigger thank. All the Oscar’s that I’ve ever raised since babies they do grow about in per month but after that they slow down once they get to about 10” they come to a stall. I’ve had this happen to me over the years with different Oscars

Sit back and enjoy, the best advice. Isn’t that the entire reason to be in the hobby? Unless you’re a breeder.

My Oscar is double growth rate as my Green Terror Cichlid!
Feed him wax worms, frozen krill, and veggie pellets

Some are called ballon oscars if they don’t grow to 10 inches in the first year most ballon oscars will only reach about 7 inches
