Buddhist monk and Tibetan refugee Kalsang Tashi, 58, from Amdo Labrang, has spent the last eight months prostrating and walking for over 2000 Kms from Bodhgaya, the most sacred Buddhist site to Dharamshala, the abode of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, in India's relentless climate.

He hopes that his feat will inspire world peace and purge his sins and negative karma by submitting to this ordeal, thereby attaining the realisation of emptiness and pointlessness of mundane worldly longings.

He survives on a staple of tsampa (barley) and noodles or whatever people on a particular day give him in alms. He pulls a cart containing his belongings which weighs more than 100 kgs while traversing the length and breadth of India, calling for world peace and compassion.
