A is for Aphasia #Shorts

Aphasia is a language disorder that can happen if a stroke or brain injury happens in one of our language centers. It can affect how we understand both written and spoken language, how we communicate, or both. Aphasia can develop shortly after a stroke or months later.

If you're dealing with aphasia, getting in touch with a good speech therapist is one of the best things you can do! They provide both restorative interventions (how to make it better) and compensatory strategies (how to work around it) to help you communicate more effectively! ❤️

Sending love to my speech therapy peeps! 😊

I was blessed with a friend who started writing me letters (pen pal). Helped me organize thoughts/words, etc.
