Alan Spencer on YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN

Mel Brooks' affectionate comic homage to the Universal Frankenstein movies piles on every cliche and cartoony plot twist from the first five series entries, with appropriate attention paid to the original art direction and camera setups. When Columbia balked at the budget and black and white photography, Brooks took it to 20th Century-Fox. A box office smash, later adapted into a Broadway musical. For a later generation of kids, this is the only Frankenstein they've been exposed to.

One of my all time favorite movies. Truly, one of the best. I watch it every time I catch it on TV.

I just love Mel's last line as narrator on the trailer "In black and white....no offense."

Love this film. It's obvious that a lot of love went into it's making.

"My favorite film not in color."
There's this idea that all sorts of "period" stuff that gets made later on should be made in black and white to make it authentic, and I almost never think so. But I do think so about Young Frankenstein.

I hope Mr Spencer will also do the trailer to the adventures of sherlock holmes' younger brother

This film embodies true horror, it will leave you on the edge of your seat with every twist and turn, ready to flee the room screaming in terror. You must watch during the day and with friends, for alone at night, you will converse with demons attempting to watch this film. I give it a 10 in horror, I give it a 10 in visceral bloodletting and I give it a 10 in ultra realistic storyline. You will not sleep well for weeks after watching this film, even if watched with friends. Good luck, Good Fortune and Godspeed! 😱💀☠️👻😈

Still one of the greatest comedies of all time. Gene Wilder, deserves the credit for this movie along with Mel Brooks. Madeline Kahn, Teri Garr, Peter Boyle are all top notch in this film. Marty Feldman really takes the picture as I gor. It gets better with age.
