Welcome to this review of the relatively new Orient Mako 40 RA-AC0Q01B, finally a Orient Mako dive styled model that is only 40 mm in diameter, as opposed to the larger Orient Mako, Ray and Kamasu models! In this review you will see the Orient Mako 40mm on several different strap options, as well as see a size comparison with a Seiko SKX009, Seiko SPB143 and a Sinn 556A.

For me, this is the best looking dive styled watch I've seen from Orient to this day. Please enjoy the review and let me know what you think!

That's a really nice try of Orient to bring back their skin diver. IMHO they are not there yet but close.
I would have loved to see the broad arrow hands on it and I also think a lume pip in the bezel would have been great.
The bracelet would anyway be the first thing that goes into the "bin" after purchase ;-)

Still struggling to pick one between Kamasu & Mako.
First one looks more pretty for me, but it's over-polished case leaves a cheap feeling.
The second is more compact & elegant, but has less personality.
Assume that will have to buy both. My wife will not appreciate this 😂

Thank you for your review. Just have ordered a black version via your link. German Amazon, however, states that the black version comes with mineral crystal, hope it's a mistake, and the watch will come with sapphire crystal.

Thanks for the great review. My wrist size is 7.5 inches (19 cms). I guess this beauty might be too small on my wrist. Shame! 😢

The decision to have untapered bracelet is very weird. I think even most cheap bracelets have at least 2mm of tapering.

how big is your wrist? I got pretty small wrists, but i am considering this watch, it looks really nice. wish it was 11-12mm instead of 13mm in thickness though :/

If it had a lume pip i would buy one. As it is i am not so sure

There are many things I like, but the bulky nontapering strap and less than stellar lume makes it a no go.

i see on two white model a little disalignment of the rotating bezel dot on the 12 hour mark, do you noticed also?

İ want faux patina /yellowish indexes.. domed sapphite.. and patina markers on black painted bezel..
brush the case fully.. increase the braceler quality and get rid of those damb kiddoish dolphins. İt will be a lovely skin diver .. make it for 600€/$ .. i am all in
