📚 Description: I worked a trade deal with my Gene Simmons Signature Gbison Thunderbird for a Flying V Custom. Little did I know that I would end up selling it to a member of KISS! The trade came full circle! I hope Paul Stanley enjoys the V when he gets back from Touring!

Have you ever sold a guitar to a famous person?

"I want to buy your flying V custom so make it happen" is exactly how I imagine Paul Stanley texts

Love the story behind the Flying V, Trogly. God has blessed you, maybe more than you know. You're the only Guitar nerd out there so obsessed with Gibsons and who's so honest and personable that I'm sure more than Paul Stanley gets a kick out of your enthusiasm with such good taste.

Your Flying V custom appeared at the Paris, France concert last night 👍 played by Mr Stanley himself

I think right before the time KISS started their farewell tour, Paul's contract with Washburn was finally up and he started playing lots of Ibanez and Gibson again. It's been cool to see those Icemans again

I don’t think it’s uncool at all, talking about selling to “famous” folks.
I find it very interesting to learn about the big timers that are real collectors.
John 5 and his amazing hunt for all things Telecaster comes to mind.

When the video started with the one-of-a-kind 'Iceman', I was absolutely sure *that* would be the guitar the KISS member was after! Especially seeing this actually is Paul Stanley, too!

Interesting, they posted a picture of him playing a flying V custom over in Europe a few days ago. Obviously it isint this one, but it had a custom tail piece, and other attributes that were Paul Stanley in style. But that is a pretty cool story Trogly.

Remember when Washburn used to make the signature Paul Stanley Iceman knockoff? It was concurrent to the time that they also made the Dean ML knockoff (that was better than the original Deans) Dimebag Signature series. That's right, I've found another way to ask you to do a tabletop on a Washburn USA D3 Dimebag (preferably in the beautiful Dimeslime finish).

I watched the video with the true original historic thumbnail. 😁

The Gibson 'Theodore' body looks like a blend of Rickenbacker & Teisco. TV Yellow suits it. The headstock design looks out of time as if a neck from a 1980's U2 had been used to complete an off-the-wall late 1950's prototype.

You should try to get ahold of the Old Hickory Les Paul and the Fender Jaguar XK-50 strat to document. I've seen the Old Hickory made exclusively for the Smithsonian but the consumer guitars show up on reverb every once in a while. I've never seen a Jaguar XK-50 in person and they are so rare that there may be one or two videos on youtube of them. Both guitars have very unique wood and a cool history.

That Iceman is really cool. Not $35K cool, but cool nonetheless.

Am I the only one that caught the edit on the S on the guitar case? Nice save trogly !

That is a pretty smart business model. Buy a guitar play it for a bit then sell it to a fan at a high markup.

6:50 Note that Brian May's "Red Special" also has a 24" scale length ( and he's strung it with 7s, 8, and now 9s throughout his career).

I noticed the original thumbnail had two "SS'' ⚡ ⚡ looking. Now it's only one. Hmm?
