What I love about this movie is that the protagonist isn't completely dumb, she confronts the villain and makes a deal with her. Pretty smart.

I kinda like the detail of how Beldam sighs in dissapointment when Coraline stated she will accept her fate and let Beldam love her if she loses but smiles immediately when Coraline tells her she will also allow her to sow buttons into her eyes, solidifying her as a malicious predator that uses love and trust to prey on her victims.

I loved Teri Hatcher’s energy to the Mother character. She did such a good job, changing her voice to sweet and charming then to evil and scary

Coraline is the embodiment of courage. A small but intelligent girl, willing to fight Beldam to save her parents.

This was a horror movie for children. If you see it when you are older it’s not that bad, but seeing this as a child was so scary. The book however is really really creepy even now

For anyone wondering, in the book the Beldam swears not to cheat on her mother, but Coraline suspects she doesn't have a mother so the Beldam swears on her right hand.

The Other Mother swore on her mother’s grave first before telling Coraline that she put her there herself. That’s a line I won’t forget and I wish the movie had included it.

What I love about this movie is that it teaches us that Dont trust someone too easily because behind the curtains they might be someone else.
