I Made a 1930's Clown Costume For Halloween!

Here's the making of my vintage clown Halloween costume! This video is definitely one of my longest so far, but I wanted to show you guys as much of the process as I could. I'm a sucker for anything I can make pink and blue, so a clown was perfect! just a tad creepy, but still pretty. What were you for Halloween this year?

Music:

"Alice Blue Gown" - Edith Day and Rosario Bourdon (1920)
“Bee’s Knees” - The Original Memphis Five (1922)
“Grandfather's Clock” - Haydn Quartet (1908)
"Entry of the Gladiators" - VidTrax Music (altered by me)

You are so good at explaining how you cut out the pattern pieces and how they go together and fit on your body. I’m really grateful! I’ve been sewing for a couple years now but I’m still not super experienced. Your videos help me understand a lot better.

I always struggle with cones and the way you made the pattern is pure genius! Absolutely adore your entire costume and the hat sometimes flipping down is so funny!

Super sick idea, spotted this video looking for makeup ideas for Halloween this year and was pleasantly surprised by how simple you made the costume making seem. Especially since the brunt of the work/skill appears to be in your seams. Overall really dope!

I love this so much! I love that you did research for a historically-accurate costume! I admire your sewing skills, and am awed at the amount of hand sewing that you did. It is so creative, and suits you perfectly. You probably know that the clown costume comes from medieval jester clothing. The color block style is particolored or motley, and the jagged or pointy edges are called dagging.❤🎉🤡

You're a hero, I'm making a collar just like yours for a costume and the simplicity pattern i bought wanted me to cut and combine 11 different pieces to make the points.

Wonderful tutorial. I don’t understand how to sew, but I enjoyed watching this. You have a wonderful talent. Also, I love that you used the old filter at the end to show off the final product. Great stuff!

Your instructions were so clear and your way of showing how they look and the shapes on the human body was very informative. I'm a very dimwitted person who finds instructions hard to follow and you were the most clarity spoken teacher that I was not lost. With it being simple I was able to finish my costume in 3 days. I am proud to say that you are now one of my favorite YouTubers I've subscribed to. 😙🤌💕

This was incredible! I love the way you guide us through the process of making the costume, step by step. Also, learning how to make the hat was a revelation. I’ve been nervous about trying to make my own witch hat, and this video gave me some great ideas on how to create a pattern for it. And stiffening the fabric with glue was genius! Love your sad clown reveal too. Happy Halloween! 🎃

I love how this turned out! You're fantastic with explanations. Lovely video, I just subscribed. I'm definitely referencing this video as I make my own costume. Now, to decide what colors and patterns I want to put together –maybe split it vertically, half dark and spooky and the other half loud and fun...
