It just keeps getting better and better with these guys. This time we take a look at Home Free's version of the famous Righteous Brothers song, Unchained Melody. This is a must listen.

Welcome to my “Modern Life for the 70's Mind” YouTube Channel. On this channel, I not only take a look at the songs and history that made us who we are today, but also introduce you to today's modern music as well. Any songs that combine the two are always a winner. I've always loved music and have always tried to keep a balance between the classic music I fell in love with and today's MUCH DIFFERENT sounds. Here's we'll analyze both. We’ll even take some time and revisit some of the old parts of our past that have disappeared from today’s shelves and most people’s memories, I call it Bob's Cabinet of Curiosity. Let’s relive those moments together! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking time out of your day to check in. I appreciate it more than I can say here.

That last note is what I call the HF organ. In many of their songs they use that 'organ' sound. I love it. Awesome reaction, thank you!!

Great reaction to Tim and Austin in this one! It's such a classic and they set the tone really well. You are in good company about your fav song by Home Free -- it happens to all of us each time! Thanks for shining a light on these talented fellas again 👏

One thing is, you can always trust Home Free, they almost never do something unexpected, which several people I know of don't care for Home Free because they've said they never take chances. With my personality I love them because they are always reliable....if you love tradition, you really enjoy their cover from last year, of "Crazy" the Patsy Cline classic from 1961. I won't do a link, because the Youtube algorithm thinks that is spam, and will put my channel in "shadow-banned" for at least a week (meaning all my comments will go to a channels spam box on youtube)....its easy to find through the search box at the top...just type in Home Free Patsy Cline Crazy - copy & paste that & I guarantee it'll be the 1st suggestion

You are right the 1955 movie Unchained was a Prison movie were a prisoner is so lonely that he is trying to decided whether to escape and always be on the run with his family or serve out his time and return to his family. The melancholy doo was style pays homage to the tone and feel version of the original in the movie. When some artist went to the writer of the song and asked what was the name of the song so they could cover it, he told them it did not have a name so he hastily wrote Unchained Melody after the the movie. Bobby Hatfield’s iconic power love ballad version will always be the Classic version but Home Free’s version is my second favorite. A suggestion for your next HF song is AIN’T GOING DOWN TILL THE SUN COMES UP. This is a fantastic Garth Brook cover were Adam Rupp goes wild with his vocal percussions. Because of copyright this is located on Home Free’s Facebook page instead of You Tube.Thank you for your great reaction and have a blessed day.

Home Free and their harmonies!! Such powerful visuals and a remarkable version of the song ❤️

I know it hearkens back to the mid-century movie and they portray it spectacularly, but I do hate seeing our guys behind bars. 😕 However, they can definitely "emote" through their music/videos better than just about anyone else out there!! ❤️🎼🥰🎶❤️

You really need to see them live also. Their skill is not fabricated in the studio and in fact, they are even better live! (I get to see them again in a month and haven't see them in a year. They are friends so I am extra pumped!)

Not for a reaction, but Austin also covered this Solo on his channel before this was released...but I love the HF version.

The Righteous Brothers had a big hit with "Unchained Melody" in 1965. Home Free did such a beautiful rendition of this classic song. They added an old school doo-wop feel to it. The video in prison is very fitting as this song was originally written for the 1955 prison film "Unchained". I actually would love to hear Tim Foust & Peter Hollens do "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'". I love all their collaborations. Maybe check some of them out.

This is so good. Home Free went back to the roots of the song. It was written as you said for the movie Unchained about prison in 1955 and a man stuck inside so the video made sense to me. Yeah I liked Tim starting off and Austin finishing. Loved it. Good reaction ML. If you like bass, try Brothers in Arms, I Can’t Outrun You (with Chance in lead). Helplessly Hoping is another great one.

These guys could sing the phone book and it would be amazing. I love that they can take any song and make it their own without losing it's integrity of the original just mind blowing. Thanks for sharing

This is a wonderful song. And Home Free did a fantastic job again. It's always fascinating to see how they build a song, how they manage not to distort the songs and still give it their own touch. The beginning with Tim is so beautiful, goosebump feeling. And then Austin with his incredible voice. That's one of my favorite songs.

Just a wonderful cover, or rather an upgrade to this song.
Well done.

A wonderfully sung and performed cover of Home Free. With their own twist to it, but still keeping the respect for the original. The leads, the harmonies, the Doo-wop, the bass, everything just so good. Also wonderful how they bring back the real story. Beautifully portrayed in black and white and the shadow on the wall of the inhuman mouth artist Adam.

If you like Do Wop you need to listen to Tim's solo Do Wop songs.

Starting out with Timothy's bass....oh I really needed that. Home Free always makes a cover their own still paying homage to the original.
