Honestly, very underrated film. And the lack of continuity feels more endearing and scrappy like they were a small crew, not some big Hollywood production like nowadays.

It's definitely not as bad as the infamous GOT Starbucks cup

I'd be willing to bet this is one of those intentional production decisions they hoped wouldn't stand out too much. In the longer-distance shots, you can see the bag cushioning Bill's head as Harold is trying to bang it on the ground. But in the closer shots, in that position it might have been taking up too much of the frame and perhaps even making noise being picked up by the mics. So they moved it out of the way, even though it's basically impossible for Bill to have dropped it on that side from how he was holding it at the start of the scene. (Also, note how different the fighting is when Bill doesn't have that cushion.)
