The APC in Helldivers 1 was a really solid way of transporting everyone around the mission while also allowing them to shoot from the sides and have a main turret on top that was great for taking out armoured enemies. Imagine it should be similar for Helldivers 2. Also yeah I recall jumping out of the APC to get samples in he first game just driving around the map.

Real shame we still dont have the apc after 5 months and with everything going on who knows when we'll actually get it.

An actual ‘Main Battle Tank’ would be nice to use against both the Terminids and Automatons.

helldivers 1 mechs/vehicles was a 1 time drop (con only call them once per mission), uses a strategem slot and the weapons cannot be reloaded during misions

Btw as it is currently LAV (the first vehicle shown) currently has 2 charges and a roughly 6 min cooldown. It has manual transmission and you have the press shift to shift up and ctrl to shift down, the guns on the sides are stalwarts and come with 10 mags + the one already in. The main gun is buggy but from my testing it appears to be a slightly weaker version of the autocannon turret gun.

The mechs have 2 charges with a roughly 8 minute cooldown and as of right now there are 2 variants i've been able to use, the minigun/rocket version, and the dual autocannon version. Both have decent ammo reserves and killing power but go down quickly to biles, rockets, and self damage.

There are also some new support weapons, theres a 4 shot laser-guided disposable rocket launcher called the "commando, " a dedicated disposable (?) AA launcher called the "stinger, " and the quasar cannon.

Before getting too excited for the money stuff I’d like the current gear to get a balance patch. That metal shield needs to do something other than suck, and the laser rifle and a few other guns need love.

It wasn't mentioned here, but I miss the Motorcycle from Helldivers 1. I remember me and my friend doing a mission together with it; he set up explosives at an objective and prepared to detonate it, and as soon as he got in the side seat I revved up and booked it, making it just outside of the blast radius as the the victory music played.
Never felt more of a badass in my entire life.

It's great to use in HD1. However it makes it necessary to bring a repair backpack. You get one per dive, and if it goes down it's two empty strat slots. On for vehicle. One for repair kit. We will see what happens in HD2.

god this needs to be release ASAP, I love the game but walking the whole map is just so boring.

All vehicle/mech have the advantage of being a second armor for you. Mechs are hyperarmored firing rockets and MG at your disposal, but you can't break through a crowd if you get surrounded and you have to make use of all your ammo to make the most of your mech. But the one good thing about these vehicles is the speed. You can't get to that speed safely even with light armor with endurance and shield gen. You can easily break through a crowded situation with all your boys in the seats while you can drive and run over a group of terminids or safely fly past them with all the attacks coming at you. In a armored vehicle, you can quickly transverse the map with ease and safely so long as you drive well and don't take too many hits just like you would with a mech. It can change the game to be able to rush through maps or have a getaway vehicle to run away quickly in case you are about to be rolled over by a death squad.

As an HD1 player, if I had to guess I think the vehicles in HD2 will have limited uses AND a long cooldown similar to support support weapons. The reason I think this is the in helldivers 1 both vehicles and support weapons were one time use. If you lost them you were just screwed it was always demoralizing to lose a vehicle early on, however HD2 moved away from that by allowing support weapons to come back after 7 minutes, so I don't see vehicles being a one time use that can be tragically lost, but I do expect them to be limited to 2-3 per mission.

Please don't say that they're ripping off the Warthog steering method too? Most awful and stupid driving mechanics ever. Just copy GTA driving controls and you'll be fine.

5 mos later, still no vehicles. are they drip feeding this shit to us or is there something more serious? maybe the engine jank can't handle vehicles. we get an implication of this from the devs' statement a few months back

"The mechs require a lot of system resources-significantly more than other stratagems - to the point where we need to keep a cap on vehicles in general to avoid further problems with stability and performance. We want to un-cap the number of mechs/vehicles but

more work is required on our end to make sure we can do that in a stable way"

I know it’s far from now but I hope they add another type of enemy. I think 4 different enemy species is good
