18+ years as a Navy Dependent, I joined the Navy less than 2 weeks before my Father was killed by a Drunk Driver, almost 22 years in the US Navy, 23+ years working at a Naval Shipyard, almost 64 years around the Navy, complete respect for the Marine Corps, your actions "Well Done" and thank you

I've heard that so many times. I was just the first Marine there. About not being a hero. My dad was a Marine. He never served in combat and I think that bothered him. But he was always the first to thank the soldier in the room. Miss you dad. See you later.

I am a retired US Navy Seabee and I have always had the utmost respect for the Marines. They, as far as I am concerned set the standard for all other branches of the military services to follow.

when a fellow human falls and can't get up then it is our duties as humans to pick up that fallen person and carry him to the finish line. Love you guys keep up the good work, pass it on and inspire our future generations to never leave anyone behind. Its our world not your world but our world.

With so much hatred and sadness in this world. We need to hear more stories like this. The kind of stories that show the real humanity out there

Lets not forget the courage of the young man. It's not easy to accept help from others. Think of the courage it takes to finish an event like that - then consider the option of "failing"... that's part of the beauty of helping and being helped. The only way for it to take place is both men have to participate. ONe needs the courage to help - the other needs the courage to accept help. Kudos to you both!

Hoorah marine. Well done. I am a paraplegic with stage 4 of a terminal illness and I compete in 5 Km races to help others see what they can do. So many wounded warriors need to see something positive to help them soldier on. Your actions will inspire many others. Well done. You are my hero.
