In Egypt, we have an architectural school named after Imhotep. He is remembered fondly

Imhotep was fascinating. He came from 'commoner' background yet exceeded all expectations.

I took an Egyptian History class in college last semester, and I did not gain nearly as much information on this monument of a figurehead. I had no idea how immensely advanced this man was for his time. Truly brilliant content.

Since this channel is so new, I'd like to offer some advice! Personally, I'd like to see a LOT more emphasis on dates and time periods and general trends of the nation/region in context to the topic. Understanding the dynamics of the region while Imhotep practiced on his architectural methods could give great insight as to why/how he was able to afford the luxury of focusing on architecture rather than, say, warfare equipment/defenses.

Also, while I understand these videos are supposed to be short and give a concise, general snapshot of a time in history, I do feel you missed a few things such as the religious importance of the pyramidal shape. I am not an Egyptologist or by any means near that field of study, but I feel that it is an important aspect as to why he decided to stack the mastabas, but that's more specific to this video itself.

Another point, which I believe is nearly irrelevant but, since the channel is so new... is that I, personally, believe the transition between topics and events is a little *too* smooth. Emphasizing an important event, such as the creation of the pyramid or Imhotep's acquirement of his greatest title could be better conveyed with more of a pause.

I am not a content creator or a film critic(?), but these are just some points I figured could help. I like this channel and the purpose behind it very much! I've subscribed and dinged the bell, and I look forward to more content from you!

PS. I really would like to see more emphasis on dates, though, however personal that request is, haha!

It is a shame that most people only know his name from the mummy.

this man is very underrated, I just imagine how hard it's to study engineering, math and physics in hygrolyph language .
and after that you get so well in medicene that you yourself become the god of medicine .
such an awesome fellow.

What Imhotep should be remembered for: *Designed Egypt's first pyramid, advanced several fields of science, was a scribe, a priest, a stonemason, a physician, a chief vizier, an astronomer, an architect, got deified, and is among the ancient world's greatest intellectuals*
What we actually remember Imhotep for: *A priest who had the hots for the Pharaoh's daughter/mistress and came back as an evil magical mummy*

This channel is a gem in an ocean of pseudo historical channels, filled with belives and convictions pulled ot of a finger. Like believes about aliens helping Egyptians, Egyptians having advanced technology (impossible for the state of their actual knowledge and time) or they are commonly presenting (almost like a fact) overcomplicated explanations for anything, that isn't completly resolved for the recent state of arheological knowledge. Those people are so annoyingly ignorant, about the whole Egyptian subject, that they can't comprehand the fact, that the simplest explanations for almost every topic are mostly right. And that makes Egyptians even more amazing. People living in modern times, with rocket technology, etc., can't belive that ancient people could make such amazing monuments with simple technology (and with a hell lot of man labor and suffering as well) in the simplest way they could. It goes so beyond their imagination, that they try explain things with Aliens and such BS.

Keep it up, You're doing a great job! Subscribe and like!
