If Mark riffs were a woman I would marry her

Holy shit! Haunted Shores throwback! Can’t have a periphery album without a good Reimagined Oldie, but Goodie!

unironically my favorite song on the album and I've already been listening to it for years lmao

Not only did Spencer make the old song justice, he also brought it to a whole new level.
Thank you!!!

Fake it
Our way of life so simple
Thinking we have it all
A choice we've made
Embrace the world in vain and shun the true human calling

It's only a matter of time before the waves consume us all
The gods will show no favor for what we are
Should I accept this fate?
Or maybe we can make an escape
Your life is what I need and one I'll surely save

Days they pass
Constructing a path to the stars bending space and time
Collecting solitude
Travel, I will, these light years in search of the savior race
Who must answer our dying call?

Watch the horizon fade within your eyes
Within you
I have to trust I will pull through
This is the end of the suffering

Uncertainty taking hold of the exit scheme
Will this be the death of me?
The end is near!
It's only a matter of time before the rocks come crashing down
Their souls collecting sorrows on the way out

Should we accept our fate?
Or maybe we can make an escape
This world is what I need and one I'll surely save

Days they pass
Constructing a path to the stars bending space and time
Collecting solitude
Travel, I will these light years in search of the savior race
Who must answer our dying call?

Watch the horizon fade within your eyes
The warmth that reflects lets me know, I'm still alive!...

Carry the weight of a thousand worlds within my heart
I've had enough of this
I have to trust I will pull through
This is the end!
Don't ask how we lost our way
Follow the stars to the place where we used to lay!...

Spencer is literally the best at taking these old instrumental tracks to the next level, he did it really well in absolomb off of p3 as well

The note he hits at 3:16 ...they should make a whole new register above falsetto called “the Sotelo”

Their ability to balance being heavy and pretty reminds me of a next generation Killswitch Engage. I fucking love it.

Ahh yes. One of my favs by Haunted Shores. Was so underrated. If Marks riffs dont put a tear to your eye just dont use your ears anymore

Mark is the best thing that has ever happened to this band.

2:30-4:27 This part right here is very heavy. Not musically but emotionally heavy. This brings back the memories of someone I just met but I felt that I knew her for a very long time.

Man... I remember walking out of a Killswitch show in Washington DC in 2007 and getting a burned EP of some small band named Haunted Shores. Listened to it all they way back to North Carolina. Great to hear this old song from Periphery

Mark always manages to squeeze every ounce of nuance and technicality out of poppy and relatable yet heavy progressions. Just the best.
