Good review. I'm a big fan of this game. I bought the first edition when it came out, and then rushed out to buy the second edition and all the expansions when that was up for sale. I'm a big fan of the genre and the franchises, and I love the wargame-in-boardgame format that they went with.

And I know people have been having bad experiences with Prodos, but... I'm going to play devil's advocate here, and say that mine was great! I ordered direct from them when I bought 2nd edition and some of the expansions. My wife secretly sent them an email saying that the stuff I had bought was my birthday present, and they were kind enough to throw in an exclusive Essen Predator model as a gift!

I might be wrong, since I haven't played the game, but I have the feeling that those Predator tokens replacing figures might represent Predator's *cloaking tech* and not "emulating prowling around the woods and voices that they heard"... Is it possible you have forgotten Predator's trademark semi-invisibility?

It's a great game. Very much like Space Hulk, by GW, but more so. The figures are stunning. Well worth looking at...one of my top 5 games (Space Hulk is no. 8).

Why so condescending toward dungeon crawl type games ? That's my fav genre wtf ? Im loving the resurgence in the crawl type games, for many many years the only options where decent, space hulk, WQ, and maybe even legions of steel (Im old 42). Im not so sure you always need cards for a good crawl game (Legions of Steel, Space Hulk), but done correctly (Secrets of the lost tomb) it can add a lot to a game.

well very simple rules, but you did 2 mistakes just before you said it.... disk rolls 2 dices per tile and hits 2 tiles and if you sentry you just do it from the start you cannot move and then sentry....

Got the first edition of this game over a year ago. It was really annoying because all the models had to be glued together and the marines tiny little arms were so fiddly! Only played it once. The factions seemed very unbalance in favour of the marines and to the detriment of the aliens. Got the update pack that changes the rules to help balance them better but am yet to try it out yet, as my group is reluctant to play it after the sour experience we had with our first game

Very negative opening almost made me turn this off. The poor editing, bad sound, and unsure delivery cost this review a lot of legitimacy. Negative opening to dungeon crawlers set an overall tone that his positive review struggled to overcome. Practice before you record until you know what you want to say and can say it smoothly.
