This Husqvarna HVT52 lawnmower hovers and cuts grass. No wheels. There is a huge string trimmer on the bottom that creates enough air to elevate the mower.

Check out Amazon which stocks the full lineup of Husqvarna lawn mowers at great prices.

In the UK it is difficult to find a day when the grass is dry enough to cut. The Hover mower is wonderful for this. Not having wheels makes them easy to whirl around. Maybe not such a great finish as traditional mowers but very useful. Comes in gas or electric. I have never seen them for sale in Canada. No idea why not, especially in the wetter parts of the country.

A friend's mower gave up the ghost several years ago -- right at the beginning of summer and just after he was laid off.
I gave him an old Sears model that I had -- needing a wheel fixed and the handle tweeked.
The self propelling mechanism gave out the next year and he griped like a child that didn't get the flavor ice cream he wanted.
I bought the parts and he fixed it, and when the pull-start ($48) later failed, he bad-mouthed me around the area.
I need more friends like him.

I had a Flymo. It was AWESOME!! It worked in any direction you wanted to move in. Back and forth, side to side, you could spin in circles if you wanted to be weird. It was GREAT mowing off steep banks too!!!

I saw a fellow using one of these to cut grass in the U.K. Years later on recalling this I thought that it might have been a dream as I had just awakened from working a late shift and never saw such a thing before or since. Guess I may have not dreamed it after all.

they are the perfect mowers for mowing the grass around bunkers on golf courses where the hill is to steep to get a normal mower, thats what we used em for and they are actually really convenient

They were marketed mainly to people who had really rough terrain where scalping was an issue.

I also sold these back in the 80's We sold a lot of them to the local golf courses. Yeah people did get their feet under them and lose some toes. They worked really good.

Reading the comments, I see that many people know that system ;)
I use Flymo (witch is now the property of Husqvarna, and explain the presence of this model in it's catalog) hover lawnmowers since more than 30 years and wouldn't use any other. This Husqvarna is in fact
It's really easy and speedy machine once you understand how to use it, particularly if you have many trees or other obstacles in the garden, including slopes.

this was originally sold as the fly-mo they came over from europe i sold these by the semi load in the early 80s until law suits ran them out of the market. they had 4 main models an 11 inch electric, a 11inch 2cycle a 18 to 20 inch 2cycle tecumsch and a 20 inch 4cyle briggs. blade hieght was done by moving shims to raise or lower the blade on the crankshaft.

You mean the mower or the wife mowing the lawn?

I'd never heard of these before today. I saw an ad for an electric one and thought it was something new.
After someone mentioned toes being cut off I then realized that was why they're hard to find. It seems cool but I just bought a robotic mower. So I hope to be set for at least 3 seasons.
