Nice, thanks for tip ! Amazing how each win iteration is a step back in UI, continuously dumbed down

Thanks so much! Such a simple task most people want to do, yet is so hidden. Without your video this was a pain trying to figure out. Thanks for posting!

Ah, thank you so much. Windows 11 makes me feel stupider every time. Anyone who started with dos.2.2 is not really dumb though!

Excellent! I have been searching for a while and this tutorial was exactly what I needed. I did this on Windows 10 and it works

This has been a minor but annoying flaw in W10/11. Thanks for the fix!

Thank you man, you're the only one that was able to bring a working solution to my problem. And no wierd polygonal dubstep bass blasting at the begining of your video. 👌

Nice. Unfortunately, you USED to be able to create custom taskbar menus by pinning folders full of shortcuts and other folders. That doesn't seem to work, anymore.

Thanks man appreciate it. Now i can have a tidy Desktop and a folder pinned containing all my files in one folder.

Thank you very much for this work around, it really changes windows 11 entirely. What an asinine thing for windows developers to do. It's clearly possible given this little work around, and it worked easily in windows 10. Windows 10 taskbar was much nicer then windows 11, I wish they would just revert back windows 10 taskbar.

I use an obsolete old file manager, Explorer++ ... just for this. It has a clean surface, not much screen wasted, and it has a Tab bar, which can be at the bottom.

Thank you for this! I don't know what Microsoft is thinking. In Windows 8 and 10 I was able to have a folder in the taskbar, but they removed that feature because it was useful. Microsoft always destroys that which is useful. I am so glad I have been transitioning to Mac for a few years now. Seamless and feature full.

Thanks but it still doesn't show the name of the folder. From my understanding windows 11 only shows icons on the taskbar unlike windows 10 which used to also show the file name.

I wonder if you create a custom folder icon if that will also show in the taskbar. Without a label, more than one folder in the taskbar would be confusing

Thanks. Any idea why another file explorer icon appears when you click on the new created shortcut (1:41)?
