My cat woke me up at 3 am. I was up in the bed and noticed lights outside my house (I live in a rural area) I walked to the back bedroom in the dark and kept seeing all these different colors of light. when I got to the back window I noticed a richly thick cloud sky with a pinkness and red cotton balls lighting up. it was absolutely a beautiful sight. the thunder was extremely soft and quite. I sat there and watched the sky and when I turned to my left my cat was sitting right next to me also watching. We was just watching this beautiful light show. Then it dawned on me and I said “ you woke me up so we could watch this together. She rubs her head on my arm and starts purring.

I learned to be happy when my cat wakes me up when I found out I have severe sleep apnea and he was saving my life. I'd rather lose a bit of sleep than the alternative.

Our kitty will take the"no" until 6am. Then she gets on my nightstand, gets my glasses out of it's case and drops them on my face!

I don't ignore my cat, she is keeping me safe. Last night I must have forgotten to shut the window at the front of my house. My area is safe, but you never know. She woke me and called me to the living room where I noticed the open window. Then she went off and did her thing.
Besides, if I ignore her, she will just dig up the carpet, knock over things or sit on my face!! ❤I love you Coco bean! ❤

I typically ignore it. One night, my cat wouldn't stop. One of the other cats had broken a pipe, and he was waking us up to tell us 😂 boy that was fun. Laundry room flooded before we got the water turned off (water shutoff is in a horrible place).

The key here is ignoring the unwanted behavior AND establishing a routine that will satisfy the cat’s needs without the unwanted behavior. Doing one without the other will be futile.

Btw, my mind is still blown by the hundreds of hours of content on this channel. Dude definitely has earned his propers.

My cats sleep with me. They enjoy my bedtime as much as I do. If I’m still up, they herd me into the bed and wait until I am sleeping before they move on.

Such practical advice. Remember, folks: Your cats are trying to communicate with you in the ways they know how. Part of that includes behaviors and not just meowing.

Understand that their behavior (good or bad) is a way to get attention. Anticipate their needs.

My work schedule has me getting up at 1am...she knows it's breakfast time and she eats pottys walk through my lunch bag and then she goes back to bed...😂😂😂

I ignore my cat every night. For 14 years, he still paws at my head and knocks stuff off anywhere he can 😂. We feed and play right before bed too

My cat used to drive me nuts. This worked for me. I also started saying goodnight to her in the same way each night so she knows when it's time for bed. Her body language changes when I say it and she gets some last pets and play time if she wants it then saunters off, leaving me to sleep.

I completely took your advice.. No free feeding, no hard food anymore, and I feed them wet food before bed and upon waking. It took around 4 days of this ritual, and I am getting sleep now!! Plus, my cats seem more satisfied. Thank you, Cat Daddy 👍😺

Ahhh yes we ignore ours at night. But they run and play not too long before bed. They figured that out on their own. I don't know how. They're just really smart. ❤❤❤

My Bella is attached to my hip. So when she knows I am going to bed, I say "sleepy time, " and she lays next to me ❤
