Nice! It takes honesty to show those clutch drop, lunge, out takes 👍

I am glad Kubota offers more manual shifting tractors. It is a lot cheeper in the future to only change a clutch than change a clutch pack on a hydrostatic and yo also get higher PTO and Wheel HP on a manual trans.

I have a L3200 gear drive and a B2301 hydrostatic. The gear drive is great for discing or mowing a field. Select your gear, set your engine speed and go. You can concentrate on the task at hand. The B2301 is my designated loader tractor, where a Hydrostatic transmission is a much more practical application. Set your throttle and concentrate on the loader controls as well as the direction pedal. Nothing beats a Kubota.

Good video, but you should have noted what (if anything) the gear transmission means for the PTO.

Interesting addition. If I'm not mistaken the gear transmission tractors also have lower maintenance costs. Well unless you need a clutch replaced.

I live about 4 hours away in VA and I would be willing to make the drive just to buy my tractor from Neil.

I used to mow with a Case 1290 which was made in England by another company, can’t remember now as it was in the early 80’s. It had 4 ranges and a 3 speed stick. It was a blast to drive. With the foot throttle it was easy to speed match when shifting. I mowed lots of state ROW with it and a B106 Woods 72” mower.

It can also trim hundred or two off every service with less hydraulic stuff to leak.
Shame it isn't synced but it's not ultra necessary in this size class anyway.

Love the geared transmissions. Glad to see it come back. Until two years ago I had never owned a hydrostatic. I was sorry i traded my old kubota in. I'll probably never buy another hydrostatic tractor.

I have one already for few months, loved. Very powerful, quick up to I believe 18mph on last gear, don’t see any problem to work with loader, just have to get use to, but one think which I don’t like - to put on gear and start driving unfortunately you need to press and release clutch, in same time when clutch is pressed - PTO stop turning, so for example can’t work with stump grinder which you have to pull forward 2” then back up 2”, or I bought tractor with brush hog, again when you put on gear and start moving slowly - first few inches will not cut because PTO taking some time to speed up to 540rpm other then that - so happy, very good compact size tractor.

I just bought an L2501 HST from a local dealer new. It did not have a loader so they have to install it. Is it bad to buy a tractor without loader and add it? Im sure they are all put on at dealer but just a thought.

Love the Gear drive! Less fuel used per hour vs HST.. Less heat and works ten times longer then HST before you need a rebuild.

I noticed the shift pattern is opposite of a car (3rd gear closest to driver, 1st further away). Is there a reason they do this?

Do they have telescoping arm on the lx 2610. If so will those arms fit a b2601 if so how much are they

Do they have a foot throttle on this machine as well? Really looking at one of these to step into and out of a bx.

I have an 8N with a loader. If the damn thing ever broke in half it sounds like I would be right at home on this and get 4WD and better PTO and 3 pt control to boot.

Good addition to the lineup, it should quite the cheap import salesman. Also great explanation of the difference in operating this transmission.

Hi Neil Messicks first I would like to say a big thank you, as your brilliant videos persuaded me to buy a new Kubota G26 mower and a used Kubota B2530. They are great! I am now saving for a 9 tonne Kubota excavator. My question is can the sway bars on this B2401 fit onto my B2530 (instead of the turn buckles I have now?) if yes would you mind giving the part numbers or if it’s a kit the part number for the kit. Many many thanks and keep up the great work Kubota should give you Social Media Salesperson of the year 2018 to 2020!! You are a real asset to them. Kubota’s own YouTube video are shockingly bad... they need to take lessons from Messicks. Well done
