An abundant collection of ostracods (also known as seed shrimp) along the edge of a freshwater pond in early spring. These tiny crustaceans are only slightly larger than grains of sand, and provide food for aquatic insects and salamander larvae.

Wow they have beautiful colors. Mine here are white/grey, as you see on another video on youtube. This species is nice.
