The only way to get Disney out of politics is to get Iger out of Disney. He hangs over the company like a cloud of ideological flatulence.

I won’t believe it until I see it. Disney lost the trust I had as a fan in Lucasfilm, Marvel, Pixar, AND Disney proper, so I won’t trust their word on anything. They don’t deserve any kind of sympathy from me.

There is no way Iger is telling the truth. If this were not 8 days until the end of their fiscal year he wouldn't have said it. I have no hope at all for Disney to return to a company that champions family values so long as Iger is the CEO. He believes he is the MLK of woke America and that some day he will be looked back upon as a hero. There are only two things that would even make me pause on this opinion and they would be: reinstate the "ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls" announcements and settle/drop the nonsense with Florida.

I personally think that Bob Iger would have been a perfect Aes Sedai as he managed to say something that people take for Disney quitting the culture war, when he basically said the opposite. Going quiet is really nothing like quitting, it’s just him saying that they will do the same thing, but with less screaming about how great they do this thing. Still, quiet is neither quitting nor reducing, it’s just less noise aka marketing. So in essence Bob Iger confirmed that Disney will double down in the culture war, but with less marketing it.

I'll believe it when I see it. And, if they do, it will be far too little and far too late. Furthermore, simply stepping out and causing "less noise" means NOTHING unless the internal culture at Disney changes. And that is not going to happen until the entire board of directors is replaced.

I think that when a company so radically changes direction and loses half of its customers on purpose the blame falls entirely on its management team and they should be held accountable. Doubling down on the same direction is clearly a sign that they are not willing to change for pride or profit. You TPP Valient and Mexican Ironman and others have superbly investigated and analyzed this company. Valient Renegade said it bluntly and I agree. The board of directors and the CEO of Disney have to be replaced by a new management team with a new vision for the company. Are they content creators or a broadcaster or Theme Park builder? Decide because they clearly cannot be all of it.

I don't think people are understanding what Bob Iger said. I don't think he meant to say Disney is giving up. To me, it sounded more like a threat, as in "we're going to copy-strike YT channels that shit on our movies". That's what "quietting the noise" might mean.

So why doesn't disney reverse course on the hulu purchase if streaming isn't making money? Shouldn't you keep the profitable companies and dump the unprofitable ones?

I think there's been a grave misunderstanding regarding the phrase, "Quiet the noise." I believe this is actually a declaration of war, rather than a cessation. You're about to see Disney and it's allies seeking to silence opponents not a step back to re-evaluate their present course.

But then again since Blackrock is in their boardroom they are not allowed to quit it. So instead they will just keep burning all the while blackrock watches. I wonder what endgame blackrock has for them.
