Maria is a surprisingly likable character for someone who your first interaction with they go "I want to dissect you"

Something I like about Maria:

Whenever she's stating an objective fact, she shows her face. That's to be expected. That's what people do in normal conversation, after all.

But whenever she's talking about her opinion on something, ESPECIALLY when the topic of her mother is brought up? That's when she puts her plague doctor mask back on.

She's always hiding what she really feels or thinks. After all, with most people, you can tell exactly what they think by looking at their face. Maria is keenly aware of this, and that's the purpose of her mask.

I think it's a really neat detail, and it really goes to show the kind of person Maria is.

Also her design? So many references to Stronghart. Platinum hair in a cone-shaped style, "clock hands" (on his cravat and in her hair) and those black cross-shaped ornaments (on the back of his coat and on her lapel and sleeves)

Dr. Sithe having a theme vaguely reminiscent of Stronghart's, in addition to the two sharing some design motifs, lead me to the wrong theory that Iris was somehow related to them both. Then there's Iris sharing ribbon motifs with Maria... I swear this was either a leftover from an old concept or a deliberate red herring.

As much as I love case 3, did anyone else think making Sithe to be the true killer a bit sudden? Like, it felt like a last minute choice to make her feel more relevant to the case. I dunno, could be me.

Leaving Dr. Sithe aside for now, I will say that if Gina wouldn't exist, Maria would've easily taken the place of best girl in this game. Which, in a game with a hot waxworker witch and a firecracker selling street vendor that lights matches with her ass, is saying something

Also, if I had a dollar for every hot french witch character I've encountered in a game, I'd have 2 dollars, which isn't much, but it's weird that it happened twice.

Degenerate waifu talk and memes aside, this is a really good track. Maria being a really fun character to interact with and her mom being a rather imposing figure, it fits her especially very nicely
