Growing up in Botswana🇧🇼my uncle 🕊️ used to play the song and I was intrigued to know where these streets were, what they looked like. Fast forward, later I went study at the university of Pennsylvanian 🇺🇸and my feet kissed those streets with so much kindness . The power of music can’t be underestimated

The impact of this landmark piece was felt the world over, when countless thousands thought this was a virtual death sentence. Thank God for helping our Doctors develop medicine that could combat this horrible condition. All credit to Bruce Springsteen, who stepped up to the plate to write and perform this unforgettable song.

Such a Powerful Song. It touches my heart every time I hear it because I've seen what the street life can do to a person, and to a family. I lost my mother to it.

My older Brother died from aids in 1993.
We were very close. The last words he ever spoke to me were Howard I love you.

To write a song like this... Being, feeling, living with. Aids, alone. One of Springsteen's tightest best songs ever. Not sure how he does it these days but way back in the day his songs reflected his life and his reality of what he saw and lived among.

Listening now in absolute tears, it's my brother's bday today or would be, addiction took him from us, this was his funeral song. Such a powerful song 💓

I'm sitting in my car sobbing, listening to this song. 31 years sober, two overdoes, 3 suicide attempts and homeless for two years
Lost a daughter and almost died of an illness
My life now is so beautiful
Married, have a 30 year old son, own my own life coaching business, finishing a book and working on a tv show
I'm blessed by the grace of god
All my friends who didn't make it
Each breath of my existence on this earth is for you.
Life is good
Cherish it
🙏❤️😊🔮🙏

I cry every time I hear this song. I sympathize with everyone who are addicted to drugs… everyone suffering from a deadly disease… everyone broken mentally, spiritually and emotionally.
These type of problems make us all one.. no one is exempt from pain… loss… and death. These are things that makes us ALL the same. Any race… & gender.

Despite a huge catalogue of great music, this song seems to have a greater depth of feeling than many of his other songs

I would never look for any better picture, than you have chosen. It adjusted perfectly the spirit of the song and the movie. Wonderful, thank you.

I lost my nephew, 1/21/23, to fentanyl addiction. Though he was never homeless, he felt so alone. It feels like a lifetime ago since I hugged him. He was more like a brother to me. Your free now. ❤
