In this short video I explain the reasons why I prefer using reverb as a send effect rather than a direct insert. Although I specifically am using Logic Pro X, the same fundamental idea applies to all DAWs.

Nice, concise video.  Thanks for this. I've been piling my individual tracks with reverb, so I look forward to experimenting with this technique.

If you want independent reverb control for each track or certain or each instrument track(s) then it looks like you have to assign a different Bus those tracks. So some or one track(s) would use Bus 1, some or one track(s) Bus 2 and so on. This does allow you to use just one instance of a reverb to save on CPU. I wonder if there is a way to put the reverb on just one Aux Bus and adjust the reverb independently for each track. This is possible when mixing in reverb for an audio track in my other DAW but I don't know if doing that with MIDI tracks in Logic Pro X is possible.

I like this melody. It reminds me of something off of "Tubular Bells" by Mike Oldfield. Well done.

I send all my long strings to Bus 1 and then send my reverb to that bus, just as you have but when i solo the Aux i get no sound? Just to clarify if i send all my strings to Aux 1 then i can adjust Aux 1 level to play with the amount of reverb or do you have to change the level individually for each channel that is sent to Aux 1?

Hi Ryan. I have a question.
When I bounce in Logic X all the files are stereo. How can I control between mono and stereo? This is really annoying, especially if I want to use flex pitch! In Logic 9 you had a choice whether to have a track in mono or stereo. Help!!!

I need to understand something. Say I wanted to mix the reverb signal without messing with the dry signal that is sent to bus 1, would i then have to send the reverb signal to a different bus and have EQ and compressors and so on/so forth in that bus? I know this is poorly worded but I did my best, cause I dont fully understand how to use buses yet.
