Considering that both Elsa and Jack Frost have ice powers, the ship makes a lot of sense unlike the ones where she's hooking up with Spider-Man (I'm looking at you, Elsagate).

The best part of this video was Sarcastic calling Anna "Anya".

I remember clearly the very first time me and my family went to watch Frozen, and as I sat there watching Elsa sing Let it go, my sister, who was in her teens at that point, suddenly muttered 'I ship her with Jack Frost' and I just gave the slowest turn to her direction...

Edit: I live in the Philippines so the movie schedule is kinda delayed when compared to anywhere else, so I'm pretty sure she just got that from somewhere else, most likely Wattpad or a random yt video. She is definitely not the first.

The only reasons I got into the ship were because Elsa and Jack were kind of iconic for being isolated and lonely, despite showing sides of themselves that love connecting with people. Elsa has learned to be stoic and controlled, and Jack being all “snowballs and fun times” could really help her get back in touch with her fun loving side again. Then Frozen 2 came around and elevated Elsa’s status in the realm of the magical, and when I analyzed where the film left her off I realized that she could either still have a human life span and grow old with her sister, or she’d fully embody an elemental spirit and become immortal, eventually outliving her sister and her kingdom and everything she ever knew. She’d become jaded, isolate herself again, and Jack could come along in modern times to bring joy back into her life. Plus, Atohollan seemed to work in a way similar enough to the way Jack became a guardian that you could connect those worlds with a fanfiction. A frozen River of memories gives a girl ice magic, and you’re telling me a boy drowning in a frozen lake and being revived without his memories but with ice and wind magic aren’t connected? He even talks to the wind like Elsa does with Gale, he says “Wind, take me home!” I’m sure Jack would appreciate an elemental goddess like Elsa telling him the wind has had a name this whole time. They just fit together like two peas in a pod, and I’m unapologetic in how much I love them together.

With Disney and Dreamworks history, this ship feels like it has a Romeo and Juliet element that is always a pro for shippers.

You can't deny that this ship works REALLY well on a surface-level.

I meant... similar appealing designs, similar powers, similar existential angst, movies came out around the same time. Makes sense to me

This proves to me that the internet will do anything no matter what when it comes to shipping

Independently of your opinion on this ship, can we talk about how beautiful most of the fanarts for Jelsa are?!?!?

Tbh when I was a 12 year old with a bit of a crush on Jack, accidentally discovering Jelsa when scrolling through Pinterest was like a revelation to young me. 10 years later and I still adore fandoms, FanFiction, and geeking out about stuff like this.

I remember this was a thing, and thought it was cute. Years later I still like this.

I think Jack being so unknown actually helps this ship. For anyone who didn't see his movie, he looked like he could have been a character planned for Frozen 2 since the art styles do match so well

Am I the only one who liked rise of the guardians? Like the Jack Frost story is so sad it just sits with me it’s one of those moments I had to just realize could happen to anyone when I was a kid. Like I didn’t grow up going out on frozen lakes because the lakes were never frozen like that but I had to accept that you can just lose somebody that fast freaking weather!

I think it's quite obvious. Elsa is the Snow Queen, and in most fairy tale, the Snow Queen was known to create winter along with Jack Frost. Given that both were based after ancient fairy tale characters, they're destined to be together.

This ship used to be one of my favs. It works so well just like you said, but also because other characters' dialogues fit so well. The boogey-man obviously feeds on fear which is explained in the movie, while Grand Pabbie told Elsa when she was younger that fear would be her enemy. This can cause the boogey-man to go after someone like Elsa who feels alone to which Jack can then come in and help her. They balance each other out.

You didn't know where they came from?! Tumblr created this AU years and years ago where they combined ROTG, Frozen, Brave and How to Train Your Dragons (and later Tangled). They saw all these cute white aesthetic teens and edited them all wearing edgy clothes, or hanging out together, maybe even one on one -- and boom, Jack/Elsa edits galore. People saw their surface level similarities and loneliness and built the ship that sails today. Everyone say thank you to Rise of the Frozen Brave Tangled Dragons for this mess

As a huge Jelsa shipper since the early days of The ROTBTFD fandom, this video was unexpected yet greatly welcomed! From a narrative and personal aspect, Jack and Elsa were absolutely ripe with possibilities of what you could do with them: Whether it be stories, fan-art, edits etc which is one of the main reasons I've always loved them. Plus, along with being in the fandom and making lots of online friends, they were my first introduction into fanfiction and writing it so they always held a special place in my heart for that

The shipping potential for these two is amazing. Like, Elsa would've known earlier that she isn't alone in this, and there's someone out there who's like her, and Jack would've shown her that her powers are a gift and not a curse.

I'll never not laught at that Zuko/Elsa edit and also I wholeheartedly agree with the point that Jelsa looks good on thumbnails due to styles matching.

Let's be real though... Elsa and Jack Frost almost have more chemistry than Kristoff and Anna. XD
