Of all the US Savings Bond commercials they've made through the years. This is absolutely the best one! It's clever and right to the point. In fact, i wish the US government would reissue this with updated incomes. It's more relative today, than even in 1974. The truth is that none of us are saving enough money. And we need to do better. NEVER listen to the naysayers about series EE or I bonds. There an excellent way for low to mid income working folks {like you and me} to actually save money. It DOES NOT matter that the interest rates are low or even non existent. What's important is that First, that you don't lose ANY of your principal. Second, your money is 100% save. And as the ad says. "When you don't see it ... you don't spend it!" It's out of your hot little hands before you get a chance to blow it. So make US savings bonds a part of your overall savings plan. I did, and i'm so glad i have. I know i'll never be rich. BUT.. I know my money will be there when i need it. And for me, that's peace of mind worth more than anything.
