Hi Chris, We used to say about Joe Farcus that, he was surely an LSD user, because of his gaudy, in your face decor, was like he was on one very long "Acid Trip" when he designed all the early Carnival ships. And Carnival just let him run AMOK in the design studios, and they thought, "Well, that's fresh and new" nobody would dare hire Joe to decorate any of their ships, by a long shot !!

Seeing that behemoth docked there reminds me of seeing our ship SS Australis docked there in the 70s, when I was between 5-7. We arrived in 73 from England. The modern era liners and cruise ships are just immense in comparison. Even seeing the old QE2 there over the years and how much bigger she was. Another great video Chris thanks, sorry you lost your gear for it.

Great presentation Chris. WOW what a job they did to refit her. I love the funnel area. Lots of places to choose from for food and beverage. The suite was well appointed as with the smaller inside. But again we are on the ship to enjoy everything and not sit in a room. I hope you us back for more indepth tour. Thanks for sharing this video.... Dave

It's a lovely ship! Just tricky to get around with the galleys in the middle. But going up & down the stairs kept us fit!

I took the Splendor on a transpacific in 2022 great cruise. I have been looking for another transpacific on a smaller ship to Australia like the Splendor or smaller

We love the Carnival Splendor. She is our quirky, crazy pink lady (like me) and she has everything our family needs to keep us all entertained.
We are back on in 5 days!!! 🎉

They DO have their history.. it's full of innovation and they preserved 3 classic liners for years.. I have old memorabilia if you need reference material.. <3 Oh my!! you're a Carnival Virgin.. They are definitely not Cunard or P & O. The Splendor is also a one off ship, because she was a Concordia Class. The new interiors look quite nice. She looks very comfortable to do a cruise on..

Nice presentation. I don't know what they did in the refit though. The only thing I could see that was different is that they had reupholstered some of the lounges in El Morocco in grey fabric.

Since P&O is being sold to Carnival, are we going to get other Carnival ships in our summer months?

I don't know why everyone hates on Farcus' style. When I first cruised onboard Legend, I remember going "wow". Would I deck my house like the Farcus designs? No, but I want to feel like I'm on a cruise ship rather than a hotel.

Not much refurbished. Needs to be updated. However although the outdated feel and only a few good food options we had the fun of any cruise we had ever been on at the start of 2024.
