#1 Trans fats (margarine and shortening). Often not shown on labels.
#2 Emulsifiers, polysorbate 20 or 80 (Pudding cups, shelf stable cakes). Causes leaky gut by “bursting cells in the gut lining”.
#3 Soybean oil (shelf stable tomato sauce, marinara). Increases liver markers and fat mass causing metabolic issues. Goes rancid very fast.
#4 High fructose corn syrup (regular soda). So many other options. It’s a chemically adulterated syrup that affects brain function. Can be seen with a blood/glucose monitor.
#5 Red dye #40 (froot loops). Cause ADHD and energy/mood problems especially in children.
#6 Regular mayonnaise. Pure nasty soybean oil. Slimy calorie bomb.
#7 Doritos. Cocktail of bad stuff including MSG and rancid oils.
#8 Gluten. Cause aches in joints and brain fog in the states, not so much in Europe.

*You have to be your own Guinea pig. Pay attention to what foods don’t feel right.

As a European I'm shocked what kind of stuff gets put into American food. If manufacturers tried to put soybean oil into anything here in France, I'm sure there'd be a second revolution lol

The human body is remarkably resilient. The fact that Thomas eliminated these foods after years of consumption and is in his now excellent state of health shows that there is hope for anybody who thinks they are trapped in our culture’s processed food MATRIX. I also stopped eating the foods he mentioned and as a 50 year old my hair stopped turning white and falling out, my crow’s feet literally disappeared and my overall skin went from being dry and cracked to firm, smooth and healthy. Thanks for the great info and explanations.

Keep preaching my guy. More people need to hear the reality of the food situation in America

Easy, fast mayonnaise in a blender. Drop one egg in the blender, blend well, drop 1 drop of olive oil per 2 seconds while blending, about 1 tablespoon total, until emulsified. Optional, add a pinch of salt, or garlic, or herbs.

DIY avocado mayonnaise lemon vinegar...and blend egg fried in ghee or butter. Or blend hard boiled eggs.

Our wheat changed in the 1950’s and was cross bred with japanese goat grass. This is why i only use heritage wheat(6’ tall amber waves of grain)

So in a nutshell, avoid processed food or the inside aisles of grocery stores. I distrust ANY food that is in a box, jar or bag.

When Thomas was talking about Fruit Loops, it made me think of the scene in Die Hard...

Powell: Roy! Roy! You all right?

McClane: Yeah, just trying to choke down a thousand year old Twenkie. What do they put in these things?

Powell: Sugar, enriched flour, partially hydrogenated vegetable oil, polysorbate 60, and yellow dye #5...just everything a growing boy needs.

The best for the end, I agree with the tip that if you eat something and you don't feel well something is going wrong

Gluten makes my joints ache too. It was becoming really difficult to walk and I stopped walking/hiking/exercising. Grocery shopping in the store was tough and I even started physical therapy. I cut out gluten almost 3 weeks ago and went on my first hike in over a year this past weekend. It's still painful but not as bad. I'm learning lots from your channel and turning my life around. I don't know if you read your comments, but seriously thank you for all that you do. I feel the kindness in your soul.

With regards to our wheat, you are absolutely correct! I spend several weeks each year in Europe and eat bread daily, all kinds of bread! Not huge sandwiches but some form of bread and it never ever affects me or causes bloating. It doesn't create cravings for more bread either and when I come home, I simply don't eat it again without any "withdrawals" at all. I did cave once last year and ordered imported flour from France to make a few homemade fermented loaves and I was in heaven while it lasted! :) Too expensive to continue though - especially comparing the $18 I spent know it's about $3.00 over there.

Thomas, your efforts to teach and guide are not lost!
Thank you for this plain & clear toxic list! Most adults have read (or heard) some of this research but then we push it aside for another product exposure or supplement necessity that has hit the scene.
PEOPLE NEED REMINDERS!

I make my own spaghetti sauce from scratch, in large batches and then portion it out and freeze it. I use tomato sauce and paste with NO added salt or anything artificial (they are cheaper too) I use fresh vegetables and the sausage has no preservatives such as nitrites, nitrates, or MSG.

There was a story in Reader's Digest some years ago about how perfectly scientifically engineered Doritos are to make your brain tell you to not stop eating them. It was eye-opening.

Great list. My son, when he was young, was terribly allergic to red dye 40. He would have 45-minute-long explosive tantrums until we discovered his allergy. Cutting the dye eliminated the tantrums (well, at least their duration and intensity). Secondly, a great argument for eliminating gluten is that doing so will greatly alleviate arthritis pain. And lastly, I've tried the different brands of mayonnaise that use avocado oil or olive oil in place of seed oils, and they taste acceptable to me, but not all that good. Sorry, but none can even compare with the taste of Hellman's.
