Description on the all new North Sonar series full carbon wing and kite setups for 2022

PKS Elite 99 Kite Line
Developed in conjunction with Robline, a worldwide leader in technological watersports line manufacturing, and manufactured from Dyneema SK 99 fiber, comes the new PKS Elite 99 Lines. The PKS Elite 99 lines are a high strength, low stretch kite line. The Line sets are manufactured with spliced and sewn loops. Since we manufacture the line sets in house, you get to choose the line length that meets your specific needs.

Pre-Loaded lines for a more consistent and responsive feel from kite to bar. This lets you have a greater sense of where the kite is and what it is doing even on a kite with lighter bar pressure.

Utilizing an enhanced impregnation and coating process and using a stabilized UV and abrasion resistant protective coating, the lines maintain their consistent and responsive feel for many years of use throughout their life.

Front Wing Options:
Mid Aspect Front Wings:
MA1050 - The new MA1050 Front Wing is the ultimate for lightweight riders (or for heavier riders on windier days). An agile, fast-turning wing with incredible speed range and maneuverability. Suitable for Kite, Wing, Surf, Wake and Tow Foiling.
MA1200 - The new MA1200 Front Wing is your go-to wing for when the breeze is up or for bigger waves. Balanced feel and powered-up performance, with exceptional maneuverability. Suitable for Kite, Wing, Surf, Wake and Tow Foiling.
MA1350 - The new MA1300 Front Wing is a mid-aspect ratio wing ideal for all rider weights. High performance and fast turning with thrilling top end speeds. Suitable for Wing, Surf and SUP Foiling.
Sizes: MA1050 | MA1200 | MA 1350

Reflex Front Wings:
Our patent-pending reflexed-camber foil section design gives the wing pitch stability all on its own. It?s like we?ve built a mini-stabilizer into the trailing edge of the wing. The Sonar reflexed wings have a relatively large surface area, which makes them highly controllable, with incredible stability. Usually, a large wing means more drag, hence less speed. But the thin section and lower camber of these wings means they feel smaller than they are in terms of their speed range and responsiveness. They have more control, ride faster and accelerate more quickly than other wings of the same size.
Sizes: 1500R | 1850R | 2200R

High Aspect Front Wings:
High Aspect Ratio wings provide high lift, speed, glide and pumpability in flat or choppy water. The high aspect Sonar Wing has a high wingspan relative to its area, similar to a sailplane glider wing. With this style of wing, you generate maximum efficiency and lift. The short chord length contributes to a relatively thin profile thickness, and with a thin profile comes reduced drag. The span provides you with the surface area needed and increases the roll stability, with a slightly longer radius turn than a lower aspect ratio wing of the same size.
Sizes: HA1250 | HA1450

That 1500R front wing is phenomenal in the waves, especially on the smaller boards. Can't wait to try the MA. Its so quick to set up as well, being able to seperate the fuse from the mast by just doing two bolts saves me so much time when i'm in a rush and that combined with a drop box is a sub 2 minute set up

The Neil Pryde system is pretty versatile as well. Everything from winging to surfing to kiting. Good review.

I have 2021 sonar with 85cm aluminium mast. I was thinking should I upgrade my mast, wings and fuse with carbon or buy foil of a different brand. After seeing your review I know the right thing to do. Thank you!

good review. been looking for a wing that can do it all so I can reduce my quiver. not easy to keep all that stuff in an apartment. I'm 85 kg, I kite as well as wing foil in 15 to 20 knots. which mid aspect wing do you recommend for me?

Great review! I'm in between the ma1050 and ma1200, I'm 70kg and I'm a beginner. I have a 5m wing and I usually ride in 14 to 18knots. What would you suggest? 1050 with s210 stab or 1200 with the s270 stab?

Do you think 1350 MA is good for learning or should I start with the 1500R. Can I use the same mast for both? Thanks

What I don't see and i could be wrong is sonar gear aimed at beginners, I'm only 145lbs and a lot of the North wings don't go much above 12-1300cm2. What would you recommend for a low time foiler. I am currently taking lessons so expect to be able to get up abs going after a few more at least

Hello Jeff, I am going to buy ha1450 with carbon fiber 85 mast for low wind wingfoil, but I wanna buy MA for wing in stronger wind and for kitefoil in low wind. I am 78kg, very good kitefoiler, and almost good in wing.
Do you suggest MA1080 or 1200?
I dont wanna be overfoil with foilkite 12m size in 8-13kn wind.
Let me know. 1050 or 1200?

Hello ! Just comparing the 2021 mast and fuselage x 2022. There is any difference ? There are good prices right now for the 2021 mast + fuselage !

Could you please compare the MA1200 to the HA1250 North Sonar? Thanks a lot!

I’m skeptical of the carbon fuselage. Only time will tell if it’s durable. Second, the choice of mast length is poor. Those two lengths aren’t good enough for kite foiling (high speed riding) or for shallow foil surfing. North (made by Delta foils?) may very well be trying to up their foil game — it’s just not enough. I prefer Axis and Sabfoil. Sabfoil actually manufactures their stuff in Italy. North is late to the game and doesn’t have a niche.
