Claude Monet’s iconic ‘Nymphéas’ is making its auction debut after 125 years.

This masterpiece will be a highlight of the 20th/21st Century Evening Sale, taking place at The Henderson in Hong Kong on 26 September; and this is the first time a Monet’s water-lily painting is offered for auction in Asia.

Painted between 1897–1899, ‘Nymphéas’ was one of the first to feature Monet’s beloved water-lily pond at Giverny. This serene motif went on to inspire over 200 of his works, becoming central to his artistic legacy.

Hong Kong pre-sale exhibition: 22 to 26 September.

Claude Monet (1840–1926), ‘Nymphéas’, c.1897–99. Estimate: HK$200,000,000–280,000,000.
