Seen that, stock for stock the CBR still looses; it just wasn't made for that. Though with a similar amount of money in mods they become pretty even. For a track day, I'd take the Ninja, for commuting, I'd take the CBR.

Though these days, I'd take the Ninja 300 from the small cc category. That bike is a superb package.

Just remember that this is speaking strictly of the 250s. The new Ninja 300 is a completely different animal.

I'd also highly recommend test riding both choices before committing.

The Ninja 250 is still a good commuter bike, but given the choice and if you'll be commuting a lot my opinion is that the Honda is a better package.

In stock form, the CBR puts you in a more upright position. The better low/mid range torque of the single is better suited to commuting. Plus the fuel injection means you get on, turn the key, and ride away. No choke, no difficulty to ride when cold, no "constant" adjusting.

Not that the 250 Ninja is a bad commuter bike, just that the Honda is a better one. But the ninja offers more fun. It's more agile and considerably faster at higher speeds.

CBR is sports tourer and has a upright seating position where as Ninja 250 has a sporty seating position. The CBR rider had his hand folded and was not keeping straight hands grip on the bike, which I think is a proper riding position.

Race went as expected... CBR off the line and Ninja up top... Good race

Well drag racing is one form of the sport. I'm a street cafe racer and I enjoy a longer race on a back road even more, as a "sport". I'm a new CBR250R Repsol edition owner and I do like this machine. It's fun to race around the back country and know the bike is an able handling machine.

Thanks a lot. I'll definitely get the CBR 250 then. I suppose that if I was just cornering and doing highways, ninja will be better. But I definitely want it to commute too.. So I'll do Honda.
Thanks!

This was a Fair Run both with 250cc engine I think its quite safe to tell now that Kawasaki Ninja appears on top of Honda :) with much difference! Honda started earlier than Kawasaki Ninja But the Ninja caught Pass the Honda well too easily :P

is that why the CBR 250R's have been winning circuit races in the US? Google "Ryan Andrews CBR 250R" .. the difference isnt much between the bikes. The CBR does 0-100 in 8.3 seconds while the Ninja does it in 7.9 And on top speed terms the CBR is capable of 160kmph while the Ninja does a 170 and the speedo errors on it are about 10% compared to the CBR's 7%

Yeah, difficult to get the perfect reaction time :(

Although cbr is a single and ninja is a twin but the gap shouldn't have been this much. The guy riding the cbr was as could be seen entirely new to any kind of racing

I used to talk shit about 250s. Now I got 4 kids and bought a ninja 250 to go to and from work. my pockets love me now. Lol. You buy a 250 when you are beginner or you buy one when you dont care about speed and just wanna it
