I first saw depeche mode on a Toronto TV show called "the New Music." They had only synths and a reel to reel player playing the drums... I was 9 years old.... over the years I went to every live show that followed their album tours...I'm now 55 --- Still love them

I remember back in 1984, just hired by the US Postal Service two months before my 24th birthday, when I asked, 'What is new wave music?' 92.7 WLIR- FM on Long Island answered my curious question by playing Depeche Mode's 'Set Me Free- Demotivate Me'. I would later in life come to know this sound as 'synth pop', but since the day, this and trance have been my two favorite music styles I live my life under.
