JavaScript statements are composed of Values, Operators, Expressions, Keywords, and Comments comprising of whole as “instructions” which are to be executed by the web browser. They are often started with a Statement Identifier to identify the JavaScript action which is to be performed. These Statement Identifiers are reserved words and cannot be used as variable names. Some of the commonly used JavaScript statements are break, const, class, continue, etc.

JavaScript comments are used to explain JavaScript code and to make it more readable. These comments are used to prevent execution, when testing alternative codes. Two types of commonly used comments are:
(i) Single Line Comments (ii) Multi-line Comments.

Single line comments start with // and any text between // and the end of the line will not be executed by JavaScript.

Multi-line comments start with /* and end with */ and any text between /* and */ will be ignored by JavaScript.
