My own speedy gonzales version is fresh Japanese rice with tsukemono, topped with furikare, all drowned in hot water. The sweet, salty and vinegary flavours all go so well together!

My favorite ochazuke has to be the one served with Hitsumabushi! The sweetly grilled eel with chives and wasabi is just too good!

The video uses rice crackers, seaweed, and sesame seeds as toppings. Aren't there other toppings as well?
Also, I heard other people use their own broth rather than green tea.

Hi, is the green tea too strong? What is a good green tea brand for Ochazuke that you can buy in Japanese grocery here in LA?

Instead of green tea I prefer miso broth. Thanks for the recipe!

oh and btw will this work with other kinds of rice? the rice I usually eat is a mix of 1/3 brown rice with 2/3 white rice. will it still taste alright?

Surprised the green tea is so light, looks like water.

Can I use canned salmon? Is there a special brand and type of salmon to use?

This didn't look very appetizing. But I would still love to try.

Yum, minus fish. I would use veggies.
