You should post the one where ALW runs around the net and taps Ben’s paddle.

as long as Ben and ALW are around, Riley will always be silver bound. at best

In order to be a great winner first you must be a good loser!

Would say I lost respect for him but can’t loose what I never had!

It was the end of the second game and the match wasn't over yet, and ALW and Ben Johns lost that game. If anything, Anna Leigh may have been in the position to be hesitant to tap paddles. At 16 Anna Leigh shows her sportsmanship. Good on her.

It’s just the Newmans and Lea Jansen. 🙄

Maybe some folks don't know this, but a lot of the pros don't tap paddles after single games, they wait until the final game.

I never took Newman to be a jerk…until now.

Ben John’s steps on kitchen line every time, doesn’t anyone call foot faults for stepping into or on the kitchen line. 😮

Wow. I wish the quality could be worse.

My takeaway from watching the brief back was turned and ALW really didnt have her paddle extended out there. Not a big deal.

I don't think it was a deliberate snub, I think he just forgot.

I would rather see far fewer paddle taps in the sport. It is getting too much like women’s volleyball in which the entire team has to hug each other, pat each other’s butts, and sing Kumbaya after every shot. That is just ridiculous. It is also poor sportspersonship because they do this even when the opponent’s serve hits the net. I was always taught that good sportspersonship involves not celebrating an opponent’s unforced error.

A few times a match when my partner or opponent has hit a particularly good shot. I will pay them a complement and say “nice shot“ or “Wow, that was awesome!” However, I sure as hell do not need emotional support from my partner after every shot, nor do I feel that I should need to give any to my partner after an ordinary, routine point.

I think people are making way too big a thing out of this... including Riley Newman. It seems like such a trivial issue to get worked up over, regardless of which side you're on. Now, if they stopped paddle tapping at the end of the match, that would mean something.

No big deal, the match is not over. Also, never understood why we touch paddles after many shots. My paddle costs too much to possibly get damaged by another paddle.

not a big deal. ben johns also doesn't touch paddles in between each game

Idk why people are so sensitive. He respects them, it’s just they’re in the middle of the match. Like if that were at the end of the match then you have a point

This is why pickleball will eventually lose its attraction. Modern players are jerks!
