What Happened to BeReal

In 2022, the BeReal app was taking social media by storm. But just 1 year later, no one has any reason to be real with the downfall of the social media app. What happened to BeReal?

I still use it. It still doesn't have ads and the lack of corporate influence just makes for a sterile and personal space for me and my friends to use.
(Edit: yeah they have brand accounts and celebs now but if you don't add any of them nothing changes, my point still stands)

i feel like it's still insanely popular amongst teenagers, so hearing middle aged adults say that it's dead like Snapchat doesn't make any sense IMO

I deleted it because the late post notification started saying "look what you missed", making me feel like I was supposed to be on it all the time to not "miss" anything.

Be real should not have allowed late submissions. Every time we go outside with a group of friends they would manufacture a good photo but the notification was hours ago. What’s the point then?

I still use it, I love the idea of cataloguing a photo a day allowing me to in retrospect go back and “relive” a previous day/week/month or even year

I still use it. They don’t have any ads and you can still post even if you didn’t do it on time. You can choose to only show your post with your friends or let the world see it.
