This movie barely scratched the surface. They kept the Teamster's name out of it but that was the union that was corrupt. Bobby Kennedy actually came to Portland and brought them down. He was the chief counsel for Sen.McClellen's Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations. As US Attorney General in his brother's administration a few years later he was able to get Jimmie Hoffa thrown into prison. My grandmother hated the Kennedys after that, as she worked for a cannery in N. Portland and was a Teamster member. She refused to believe they were corrupt.

Well they could've inserted a Bigfoot scene near that woodsy tacky tavern.

What kind of cheap hood would have a black wall tire on the front and a white wall tire on the rear of a Cadillac limo

There was an earlier film about tackling mob corruption and gambling in a town in Alabama, too. Must have been a theme in the 1950's. That town catered to the soldiers who came over from Fort Benning in South Georgia.

Pretty good movie with some familiar character actors. The attempted rape scene with Frank Gorshin was kinda radical, for the era of this film.

Yes, Portland was like most of the west coast cities... with east coast "business men"
