A pattern that quickly found it's way into the fly boxes of Scandinavian sea trout fishermen. Given the name from the famous sea trout fishing beach on the west coast of the Island of Bornholm in the Baltic. A very effective pattern when fished on a long fine leader with long slow retrieves. Tie it in various sizes and the most popular colours of orange, red, yellow and olive.

Hook: Mustad Heritage CW58SAP # 6-10
Tying thread: Orange 8/0
Rib: 0.40 copper wire
Thorax: Orange seals fur

They don't look like much, but when you see the care and craftmanship invested into tying your own flies, you realize how deeply you're invested in the sport.

Like we are used to, just again a very nice pattern and very solid tying. It gave me the idea to tie this one in size 10-18 and just fish it for trout and grayling. Let's see what it brings.
Last week I received your book after ordering it from a German bookshop. Here in the Čech Republic I couldn't get it.
Just want to say, very very good and a very good price for such a big book.
Tight lines 🎣 Barry and stay healthy.
From the Čech Republic 🇨🇿.

Probably a good low water Steelhead fly, which is of course another Sea Trout. It's not a difficult pattern and I really like the hook style! Thank you Barry!

Hi, looks like a sea fishing suicide hook in shape and gape. We don’t see these Mustad hooks in trout fly tying sizes here in NZ. What is the gape width please? The reason I ask is we have regulations on the width of the gape that can be used when fishing for trout. Cheers mate. Harera

Lovely looking fly Barry, I would happily fish that on the stillwaters and lochs here for rainbows and browns. Just bought your book (on its way) so really looking forward to reading that. Can I ask a question and apologies if you've covered it before but your tying looks quite awkward almost like you're using your less dominant hand, sorry if it's a medical thing but I'm amazed at your tying skill anyway but if you are handicapped/ing your tying in some way I'm even more impressed as its faultless which is hard enough when everything's perfect. Again apologies if that's came across rude or offensive to you, definitely not my intention.
