The current Kia Sportage offers a wide array of engines, which we anticipate will remain the same for 2025. The Sportage is equipped with a standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 187 horsepower. This engine is matched with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, with all-wheel drive as an option.

The available Sportage Hybrid features a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor, delivering a combined 227 hp. The Sportage PHEV offers the same powertrain as the hybrid model but is enhanced to produce 261 hp. The electrified versions of the Sportage come with a six-speed automatic transmission.

Regarding safety features, the 2025 Kia Sportage is expected to continue offering the same equipment as the current model. The Sportage currently includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, a driver attention monitor, automatic high-beam assist, and rear parking sensors.

Higher trims of the Sportage are available with a surround-view camera, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, reverse automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, a highway driving assist system, front parking sensors, and intersection assist.

Kia has not yet announced the pricing for the 2025 Sportage. The current Sportage is priced between $28,565 and $39,365. The 2025 Sportage's pricing is expected to be similar to that of the current model.

Rivals in the compact SUV segment include the Mazda CX-5, Hyundai Tucson, Subaru Forester, Ford Bronco Sport, Honda CR-V, Nissan Rogue, Toyota RAV4, Volkswagen Tiguan, Chevrolet Equinox, and Ford Escape. Kia has historically introduced the Sportage in August. The 2025 Kia Sportage is estimated to arrive in August 2024. More details on the compact SUV should emerge in the coming months.
