This week, I'm topdressing my raised beds and finishing planting out my garden both in raised beds and grow bags. One of the crops I'm growing in grow bags this year is carrots. Have you ever wondered why it’s so hard to grow consistently straight and well-shaped carrots? I’ve discovered a trick that goes against conventional gardening methods. It involves the right soil, growing in a container, and a special seed-starting method I discovered a few years ago. In this video, I’ll show you how to grow perfectly shaped carrots you’ll be proud to show off.

Soil cubed veggie mix is $200 a cubic yard which is about 200 gallons. Those root trainers aren’t cheap either, about $25-30 for a set of 32. That looks to be a 10 gallon grow bag, so about $10 worth of soil. Definitely the most expensive way I’ve seen to grow five carrots.

I grow mine in 5 gallon buckets great soil and add bone meal. Advantage is I put a lid on the bucket for a few days to hold moisture in until they germinate. I grow Napoli F1 55 days to have carrots.

I've planted carrots in ground, raised beds and 10 gallon grow bags. Grow bags has always proven to be my best method for the best carrot harvest! I always direct sow but I knew you were going for the root trainers the moment you said you are a contrarian! 🤣😂 I'm going to have to try that! The auger on the grow bag .. I'd be afraid of hitting bottom, though. How about a trowel or horihori?

i went down around Nashville Tenn and got 8 cubes of the veggie mix and it was terrible, big chunks that would not break up and looked nothing like what you showed here so i would caution people on spending the money on this.
