As for the newer programmers out there:
You can always see a piece of code, think that you should "refactor", since it can be not an attribute but a method with 140 lines. This is where tests get in the party. If you do something wrong the tests will tell you and your chances of creating bugs is dropping significantly.
In your projects always push for tests. The business layer of your company will try to skip them since 1 less test made in time is 0.1 new feature. But the tests make quality code, they can save lots of headaches and will increase the life of your project.
