Syed Jibran was born into a Punjabi-Pashtun family of medical professionals and surgeons. His father Colonel (r) Dr. Syed Muqadar Shah was an influential cancer specialist in Rawalpindi.
He took an interest in acting while being a third-year student at the Rawalpindi Medical University, eventually finishing his MBBS but without exercising as doctor.
