According to the FED's, most recent beige book, there are five alarming signs that the economy is in freefall. We could even be on the verge of economic collapse if these problems continue to worsen without any real solutions. All our government and the FED wants to do is print our way out of this which will no longer be possible. The recession/depression is here.

For boomers and senior citizens, the current market and economy are unnecessarily harder. I'm used to simply purchasing and holding assets, which doesn't seem applicable to the current volatile market, and inflation is catching up with my portfolio. My biggest concern is whether I'll survive after retirement.

This collapse might end up being a part of us for a very long time. With inflation currently at about 9%, my primary concern is how to maximize my savings/retirement fund of about $680k which has been sitting duck since forever with zero to no gains.

The only American who won't acknowledge this Administration's failed economic policies is Joe Biden. "Shrink-flation' is the least of our worries compared to rising rents and stagnant wages, but it is an undeniable indicator of how bad our inflation has gotten. I have $100k that i like to invest in a non-retirement account, any advice on that?

The Senate just passed 95B for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan. That's billion folks, not million. The amount blows my mind. Meanwhile our own country goes to crap. WTH is going on?

I recognize the hardships that come with economic struggles like unemployment, job loss, inflation, housing market instability, political uncertainties, and the global impact of conflicts and wars. Making ends meet during such times can be incredibly challenging. To navigate this difficult period, considering alternative job prospects, enhancing skills through online courses, and expanding your network can heighten the chances of securing employment. Moreover, prudent budgeting, exploring available financial aid programs, and seeking assistance from community organizations can offer some relief. How are you currently tackling these challenges? Have you implemented any specific strategies to cope?

I live on less than $1, 100 month social security. All I ever buy are the necessities, and the price of those has gone up 30-50%, beginning with covid. I'm so demoralized right now. This sucks.

Fast food is done. The only real benefit was cost, now it's cheaper to get restaurant takeout.

All information from the federal government and government agencies are manufactured to fit the narrative they want. Remember that the federal government is allowed to use propaganda on its population.

I volunteer at a non profit horse rescue, because of inflation, people are giving up their horses, the cost of hay and care has gone through the roof, it's squeezing the life out of us..

People - tighten up - we may be in a world of trouble. I bought a Subway meal for the first time in years. Just a sandwich & a drink was over $12! That’s crazy - how are people with teenagers feeding them??

Restaurant food is so expensive. We don't go out and eat anymore. We've been cooking all our meals at home. We may go out once a month to treat ourselves. If you don't know how to cook, you ought to learn how it's much cheaper

There are so many Americans that believe the government has their best interests in mind, but they don't. They only have their own interests in mind and we have each other. When United we are the real power
