Blooming Onion in an Air Fryer

Alternatively, put an onion between two cutting boards of the same height. Cut the onion as many times as you want, no need to remove the center. Wet the onion by dipping it in water and moving it around, dont use a batter. Coat the wet onion in your preferred flour/spice blend. I like Cajun with extra paprika and garlic. Then deep fry it. It will be crispier than a batter and will reheat better too.

To be fair, you didn't put much oil. Drizzle, or wipe a good amount of real oil on if you want an air fryer to be comparable to deep fried on certain things

You are missing an extended water bath for the onion after it's cut. Also they use cajon seasoning in the batter
