Cadence CF20 Ian Gordon 15ft Fly Rod

Our range of Cadence Ian Gordon Double Handed Fly Rods have been designed to provide the best actions required by salmon and trout anglers. Our rods have interchangeable sections, allowing you to change the action of the rod to suit your casting technique and the fishing situation you’re facing. All our rods are available in the standard configuration which is designed for the majority of anglers. By altering the weave of the micro fibres within the cloth, we use T-Mesh to make specific sections stiffer or softer without adding weight.

#10 Standard – The standard version of this rod is slightly stiffer in the butt and is made for similar work to that of the full flex below but can deal with slightly heavier, bigger flies fished on a heavier line. It also has an action that deals with stronger wind and sinking lines. These rods are extremely versatile with an action that suits the traditional technique but with the modern twist of shorter heavier lines.

When you have our standard rod, you can change the action by buying two different sections:

#9 Full Flex – This is a summer version of a classic 15 foot rod. When delicate presentation is called for fishing wide glassy pools, and grilse make up 50% of the fish you are targeting, this very different 15 foot rod is a dream to cast and play fish with. Modelled on the action of Ian’s 15 foot cane rod but with carbon, it brings together the lovely slow action of cane with the faster energy transfer of high modulus carbon.

#11 Fast Action – This series of rods are parabolic by nature. The stiffest butt section for this rod allows the rod to handle extreme line such as short heavy sinking lines whilst using the more traditional action used by most. This is not a series for classic underhand casting but when used with the correct casting stroke (Longer) performs incredibly well with excellent turnover of big flies. A real performer in the Spring and Autumn when large heavy flies are the order of the day.

This means that you only ever need to buy one rod of a length, you can then swap out the sections to change the action of the rod, giving you fantastic versatility for all fishing situations.
