Despite being nuclear-powered, France's Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier is much smaller than China's carriers. It's only 261.5 m long and displaces 42, 500 tons. It carries 30-40 aircraft.

China's carriers are at least 300 m long and displace 60, 000-80, 000 tons. The Type 003 carries about 60 aircraft.

A carrier is outdated and will have limited uses in today's war doctrine.
While useful for small local operations against small countries they are expensive and not as much useful in a full scale war.

Every carrier China build is a class by itself..they are just building for learning purpose.m

Suggestion: Use the ambassador technique to get an invitation from Cuba and visit Cuba according to the invitation, showing the First Nuclear-Powered Aircraft Carrier with full loads of invisible fighting jets on the deck for a week while starting to build up the next Nuclear-Powered Aircraft Carrier.

If China can build nuclear and thorium power station, then it's only a matter of time they will come out with nuclear powered carriers. The technology is already there for them. Just fit the equipments into the ship.

To the 'author' ...

China 🇨🇳 is a Peace Loving Country & she wants Peace for the World 🕊🤝
China's build up of such advanced Carriers & other weaponry is for Home Security & Defence, & NOT FOR CREATING WAR NOR ANTOGANISING OTHER COUNTRIES, UNLIKE WE KNOW WHO !
THANK YOU.

Iran had shown how the modern war execute their weapon by raining hundred and thousand drones and missiles towards the enemy target. With the limited number of missiles brought by the warships and carrier they cannot stand the attack with such a large number of missiles and drones .The american pilot that faced iran attack said that they dont have enough missiles to counter 200 iran missiles and just imagine if Iran launched it 3000 missiles at once nothing could stop it and the carrier would become an easy target .

Even with nuclear power, the endurance is limited to support vessels, destroyers, minesweepers.

Nuclear power aircraft carriers may not be always better than diesel power one. They are more expensive to build and maintain. The total operation time of nuclear one is not much longer than diesel one .

No advantage today, just presents a bigger target for missiles.

Maybe nuclear propulsion is over hyped. What happens to the carrier's aircraft as they run out of fuel, ordinances, and parts? What happens when the carrier starts to run out of food? What happens when it is necessary to be replaced on station with another? The same thing that happens with a conventionally powered carrier. Maybe the advantage is more space to carry more stuff and more power to accomodate upgrades, but the conventional thinking of staying on station for longer periods without replenishment is needed is false, both need supply ships. So do its support destroyers and submarines. It is the US use of nuclear that sets its fleet apart from others at a cost that many countries cannot afford, nor do they see their navy being assigned missions across the globe. Only the US wants total global reach.

In today's war, it's drone & missile that win the battle, not big ships!

0:55 seriously are carriers the hallmark of naval power in 2024, or are they great to project power on asymmetric warfare, but a sitting duck when facing (near) peer opponents with the latest anti ship weapons and ISR capabilities? How would a juicy carrier TF deal with a super sonic cruise missile attack from a thousand mile plus range? How would they deal with hypersonic weapons? A salvo is calculated to saturate defenses, how would these defenses cope with hypersonic maneuvering anti ship weapons?

You should look what a quantum leap is. It's not what you think...

U.S. Space Bombers from 250 miles up in space are capable of dropping a precision re-entry guided bomb from space travelling at more than twenty thousand miles an hour with the kinetic energy of a spall asteroid that can instanly obliderate any ship including the largest Chinese aircraft carrier ! instantaneously!

China advancement in nuclear powered aircraft carrier is a threat to US hegemony in the Indo-Pacific region. But it is not a threat to the US mainland and neither is it a threat to countries of the Indo-Pacific
